Payroll Software

Payroll software for Singapore SMEs

CPF, SDL, itemised payslips, and IRAS year-end filing — handled natively for Singapore, not patched in from a global template.

The cost of doing payroll by hand

Singapore's payroll obligations are specific and unforgiving. The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) requires every employer to issue itemised payslips within a strict timeframe. IRAS expects accurate Auto-Inclusion Scheme (AIS) submissions — including IR8A forms — before the annual deadline. CPF contributions must be calculated and submitted monthly, accounting for Ordinary Wages, Additional Wages, employer and employee shares, and the Skills Development Levy.

For a five-person firm, a spreadsheet might hold up. At fifteen or twenty staff — with varying ages, citizenship statuses, and leave balances — the manual approach starts to crack. Errors in CPF contributions or late payslip delivery carry real consequences: penalties, back-payments, and audit headaches.

Common manual-payroll mistakes

  • Applying the wrong CPF rate after an employee's birthday
  • Missing the Additional Wage ceiling when paying bonuses
  • Forgetting SDL on allowances
  • Issuing payslips that lack MOM-required line items

How Critical Mass Cloud handles Singapore payroll

Critical Mass Cloud's HR & Payroll module is built around Singapore's statutory framework from the start. It is not a global payroll engine with a Singapore add-on — the rules are native.

CPF & SDL auto-calculation

Employer and employee CPF shares are calculated each pay run based on the employee's age bracket and citizenship status. SDL is applied automatically.

IR8A generation

Year-end tax forms for IRAS AIS submission are generated from the payroll data already in the system — no re-keying.

Itemised payslips

Payslips include every line item MOM requires: basic pay, allowances, deductions, overtime, CPF, and net pay.

Leave management

Leave types, entitlements, carry-forward rules, and approval workflows — tied to each employee's record.

Payroll, accounting, and signing — without the CSV shuffle

Most Singapore SMEs run payroll in one tool, books in another, and chase contract signatures in a third. Month-end means exporting CSVs, reconciling numbers, and hoping nothing was lost in translation.

Critical Mass Cloud puts all three behind one login. Payroll journals post directly to the ledger. Employment offers and payslips can be sent for e-signature through the Sign module. The data flows — you do not have to push it.
